I have been feeling in the festive mood for about 2 weeks now... I'm loving it. But when David said he didn't feel Christmassy AT ALL yesterday... we had to do something! So we all wrapped up warm and braved the rain, heading into the city to see the Christmas lights in town and browse the German market.
To top it off we treated ourselves to a hot chocolate in a cosy, candlelit cafe.
Nice memories for them I hope...
Anyway, I am about to head off to do a food shop... not looking forward to it, delaying the inevitable I suppose. Fingers crossed it won't be too bonkers out there. :)
P.s... My giveaway ends this weekend... so enter soon!
I'll announce the winner at the end of the week. :)
We had a lovely weekend doing some Christmassy things with the girls. We saw a fun, local production of the Elves & the Shoemaker on Saturday & then threw a little party at our new place on Sunday afternoon.
We made a batch of this delicious mulled wine from Jamie Oliver's website - possibly the best I've tasted. So may yummy spices & flavours in 1 cup, so highly recommended by me if you're thinking to make some...
Anyway, I hope you are all having a wonderful lead up to Christmas and you're not getting too caught up with the manic spending side of it all.
So I thought I'd post a little update from this last week..
First up, the Christmas craft fair last weekend went really well. In fact it couldn't have gone better considering it was my first proper one (let's ignore the one the week before). I sold a fair bit and got a lot of interest in my work... including my portrait stuff too. So a pat on the back and big smiles there.
I was honoured to be a part of such a good fair - with some great talent (i managed to do a bit of shopping myself!). The event was organised by the wonderful 'crafty muthas', they do one in the spring as well... so hopefully I'll get a stall for that one too!
(Me at my stall sampling the homemade celeriac soup.)
A lot of energy went into getting ready for this and it well and truly paid off :) ....but i was completely wiped out afterwards! Nothing that a hot bath and good night sleep didn't sort out though.
We spent Sunday getting into the Christmas spirit with the girls... I'm really looking forward to a little holiday time now.
Apologies... all these photos were taken on my phone, except this one...
... can you tell?
I'll admit to having been a bit lazy with my camera recently. But it'll be dusted off in the next day or two as I have 2 commissions this weekend.
So now we are well into the swing of Christmas here... how about you?
So Sunday's craft fair turned out to be a little disappointing... admittedly it was a risk as I signed up to it with out even knowing what it would be like or who else would be there (I've learnt my lesson!). Either it hadn't been advertised properly or the location was a bit pants (probably both!), the long and the short of it was... no one came!
So we sat there, we drank tea and got cold, we bought a few bits from one anothers stalls and had a little chinwag. Some friends of mine turned up for morale support and probably generated the most sales for everyone there *high five!*
(Prepping the night before...and staying warm.)
So I'm viewing it as more of a dress rehearsal for this coming Saturday's Winter Fair with the 'crafty muthas' in Bearwood. After Sunday, I have reorganised my table display, decided what looked good and what didn't, what needs to be more eye catching...etc, plus I will remember to take a packed lunch too!
Here's the info...
If you're local please do come along and support all the talented crafters & artists. I went to the first one a couple of weeks back and all the stalls have really lovely stuff and in most cases far better than what you'd find on the high street.
If you're not local to me, then do find your nearest handmade fair and go and support them. When so much these days is mass produced family & friends will appreciate something that is unique & made with a bit of love and care this Christmas...
p.s. I'm doing a giveaway on here in the next day or two, so pop back soon. x
