Handmade Market

Myself & a friend of mine are running a handmade market this Sunday, November 30th. You will find us above our local pub... the Hare & Hounds on Kings Heath high street from 12pm - 4pm.
We're really excited as it is our first go at doing anything like this ourselves and we have some really talented sellers that will be participating. From organic skincare, to knitted accessories, gorgeous homewares, jewellery, kids clothes & loads of other gift ideas. We'll have live music throughout the afternoon from 2 local bands... so it's looking to be a great time.

I've been busy making lots for the market... my wristwarmers & cowls and a few kids ones too, as well as a few baskets & other bits & bobs. My crafty corner is filling up with new stock... my poor little fingers have been working tirelessly every evening. :)

So if you're local to Birmingham then why not pop along and show your support of local makers & designers. Hope to see you there! x

A little update

So.... my new website is now up and running and I'm very pleased about that.  :)

It features the various avenues of work I do... photography, design & craft.

For the time being I will be using my big cartel shop, which has just a few things for sale in it. You can find all my items in my handmade gallery and simply order by sending me an email with the details.

Managing an online shop is not only expensive, but very time consuming and when it's only little me and a scattering of orders, it doesn't seem worth it (for now anyway!). The gallery shows you a selection of my handmade items and still there is the option for custom made orders and wholesale too.

Now here are my beautiful girls during a lovely afternoon spent together on a beautiful autumn day. Jemimah is wearing a little jacket I knitted up in the summer, the wool is the softest alpaca that my mother-in-law bought me back from America. It's gorgeous. Anouk is wearing a knitted cowl in a beautiful grey, cocoon wool (until she took it off!).

Hope you're having a lovely half term... x

Our summer travels.

After a busy July with moving house and my sister's wedding, we decided to hit the road at the start of August and head off on a mini road trip with our girls in tow. Apart from our first stop off in Norfolk, the rest of the trip was fairly unplanned. We had a rough idea of where we may go, but nothing definite (or booked!)... we decided to let the weather & wind be our guide (!). All I wanted was to be out of the city and to spend as much time by the sea and in the countryside as possible.

Our trip saw us go right across to the east of England starting in Norfolk, then heading down South to Dorset and finally West camping just outside the city of Bath. We didn't quite make it to the North this time!

I took both my digital & analogue cameras... and took plenty on my phone (you may have seen some if you follow me on Instagram). I can't wait to develop the film too.

Here's a handful of the photos i took on my DSLR... hopefully giving a little taster of our time in each place.

Firstly Norfolk...

BFF's :)

A walk in the marshes...

Now to eating plums in Dorset...

Flowers from the campsite.

The very beautiful Lulworth Cove...

On the train to Corfe castle...

And finally to Bath... photos taken from our time at Prior park gardens....

It feels like I've only just scratched the surface here of our 3 week trip ... but i guess I'm only sharing the pretty shots (so as not to bore you too much with excessive holidays snaps!)

It was a fabulous holiday, making nice memories with our little girls. They loved the whole camping experience, playing carefree, late bedtimes, campfires and making a ton of little buddies at every place we stayed.

I'm so glad to have this blog to document these days and to look back on in years to come.

Other places we went which I would recommend if you're in the areas:

- Holkham Hall
- Brancaster beach
- Stiffkey (specifically this shop!)

- Studland Bay
- Tyneham Village
- Lime Regis

- Bradford upon Avon
- The Fashion museum / the assembly rooms
- Plus the city itself which was great for shopping!

A collaboration with Cooshoo

I thought it was about time I updated the blog and filled you in on some of the things I've been up to.
I've spent the last month working on a kids range of accessories for Cooshoo Shoes, a local independent & very cool kids shoe shop!
The range is made up of some cosy knitted cowls and crocheted wristwarmers in bright, bold fun colours ready to keep them snug this autumn/winter.

My little model is here showing off the results. :)

Unfortunately they are not currently available in my shop, but if you're interested then feel free to get in touch and I'd be happy to custom make some in the colour of your choice! I hope to eventually add something similar to my shop, but if you're local then head down to Cooshoo shoe shop on York Road and purchase your little ones some cosy, stylish knitwear ready for the colder months ahead!
